Information Email Sent to Students and Parents - Week 9 Term 2, 2020

Scotch College is excited to announce plans for our Scotch Musicals 2020 Production and all Torrens Park students are invited to be involved. We are seeking, actors, singers, dancers, musicians, technical crew as well as parent volunteers. Performers will receive detailed training in singing, acting and dancing and will be supported with production values and staging worthy of a ‘Scotch Musical’.

The production team consists of:

Dr Hubmayer (Producer), Nina Richards (Director and Choreography), Linda Williams and Mark Stefanoff (Assistant Directors and Choreography), Dr Hubmayer and Mark Stefanoff (Musical Directors), Janna Romeo and Kristen Hardy (Vocal Coaches).


Production Performances Dates: Term 4 Week 1.  Friday 16, Saturday 17, Sunday 18 October

Venue: Scotch College Chapel
Rehearsals: Term 3, every Friday 3.45-7pm
Production Week Rehearsals: 2nd week of T3 school holidays (Tuesday 6th – Wed 14 October)
Participation Cost: $300


The production will feature a selection of 10/15-minute song-scenes from some of the best recent Musicals, including:

  • Come From Away

  • Hamilton

  • Newsies

  • Wicked

  • Billy Elliott

  • Matilda

Self-Test Soloists Audition Process

Please Note: Students who are happy with an ensemble/chorus role do not need to submit a self-test audition.
Students who would like to be considered for a ‘soloist’ opportunity are required to submit a self-test audition movie demonstrating their singing and acting skills for one of the following song sections. Students should perform using the accompanying backing track.

Self-Test Movie Submission

Students upload their ‘Self-Test’ audition movie to a private cloud server (e.g. OneDrive, YouTube, Vimeo) and forward a URL link to the following audition form.

Year 7 Camp and Performance Weeks
Year 7 students participating in the Musicals Production will attend their Year 7 Camp from Mon 12 October until Wednesday 14 October and will then resume rehearsals on Thursday 15 October.
